Description

Our authentic Craftsman-style Standard Bungalow Mail Slot with Letters Front Plate features a rugged, hammered texture and a deep bronze finish. Made of heavy duty cast brass, it's as sturdy as they come. The opening is generously sized for magazines and legal envelopes.

Exterior plate: 10 5/16" W x 3 5/16" H; Opening in plate: 7 3/4" W x 1 1/16" H. Inside plate (flap): 11 1/16" W x 3 1/8" H. Thru bolts fit doors up to 2 3/4" in thickness. Standard door range: 1 3/4" to 2 1/4" thick.

imperfect success

Comments:

Phone service was polite and helpful in ordering. The main problem is that the inside cover sticks in the open position after the mail in put through -- thus not providing the full insulation from drafts that I hoped for in replacing the previous mail slot. I have to close the inside cover by hand. The professional handyman I hired to install the mail slot had to send me out for different screws (bolts?) and said that the slot was poorly made. It looks nice, though.
