Description

Pacific Hardware's circa 1912 Bastile pattern inspired our creation of this striking Craftsman-style combination push button GFI switchplate. We've replicated the unique window-pane design, with its incised border and characteristic hammered surface, in solid, cast brass. An oil-rubbed bronze finish with copper highlights completes the authentic look. 6 3/4-inch x 4 1/2-inch.

Dimensions: 6 3/4" H x 4 1/2" W. Projection: 1/8".

Please note this cover plate has a flat backside.

Hardware Tip

For an authentic period look in your restoration or vintage-style new construction, install black or brown switches and outlets in combination with our reproduction cover plates.

Beautiful heavy metal plates

Comments:

These plates are absolutely beautiful. They are very thick brass (almost 1/8""), with a dark patina. The only thing to be very aware of is that they have no hollow recess behind them, so if any part of the electrical box or outlet/switch sticks out beyond the plane of the wall, the plates will not fit up tight to the wall and there will be a gap. There are several tricks you can do with outlets/switches to accomodate this as long as the box is flush or recessed slightly. The patina is very thin, as metal patinas usually are, and can scratch through to the brass underneath if contacted with metal (such as a screwdriver during installation), so you'll want to be careful. These sure do look great once they are installed tight to the wall, and the price is very reasonable compared to other options. These look particularly nice with the black push button switches and fan controls or GFCI outlets.

Headturning detail!

Comments:

These outlet covers never fail to impress. They are a detail that merits being included in your restoration or even new/old build
