Arts & Crafts Passage Door Set
Comments:
The door plates, mechanism etc. were all of high quality. However, the heads of the supplied installation screws stripped easily even though I took extreme care installing them in pre-drilled holes into which I had already threaded some standard steel screws.
Beautiful but questionable quality

We have 3 sets of this style handle. We liked the look so much we wanted it on all of our doors but it's a little gimpy in operation. The handle set goes in easily enough but there are a few things that would really make this kit better. The hole the latch goes through is round so it just spins inside the door. I am going to have to find a different plate or retainer of sorts to keep the latch at the proper angle. After opening the door a few times it starts to spin and whams into the strike plate instead of latching. Including the proper part would make this actually function right. Also, one one set when I turn the handle to the right fully, it sticks. It's fine when I turn it to the left. Thankfully only one of the handles of the 3 has the sticking issue, another has a wobbly handle but works otherwise and they all have the spinning latch issue. You're really paying for the good looks, which this thankfully has in spades as the quality is only so-so for what you get for the price of these things.
Great looking handle!

I work with reclaimed lumber which is both fun and challenging at times. Trying to find new things that need to function properly yet look old can be one of those challenges. This door knob was a perfect fit for a couple of speakeasy doors I just finished up. It looks great and functions just as well.
Great quality and esay to install..

It looked great

We discovered after the door set arrived that what came with the set was a 2 1/2 in setback latch and our door needed a 2 3/4 setback latch which was available but we had to order seperately and it cost more because we could not send back the 2 1/2 in setback latch for credit. Otherwise we were very satisfied. The set was installed in a modern made wooden door to replace an old 1926 wood door that was not very functional. The new door was stained and varnished to look like the old door and the door set worked very well in the new door. The new door was predrilled for the instillation of the door set, but a professional installed the door and the door set
It was exactly what I was looking for.

I used this to replace old worn out hardware on an entry door in the house I am renovating from the 1940's. I wanted to keep the original doors and wanted vintage hardware to keep thevlook and feel.

Pretty but does not function
Comments:
I paid a lot of money for this doorkob set. It looks beautiful, but the knob spindle has come apart twice, requiring replacement. The set screws will not stay. The knob comes off in your hand. Really disappointed. I am currenlty using a 100 year old knob as it works much better. I have installed a lot of knobs and have never had the experience I have had with this one.
Pretty, yes - Functional, no!
Comments:
This door set is gorgeous - it was EXACTLY the look we wanted. Unfortunately it is the worse performing door knob we have ever used. There were multiple parts that needed to be traded out, with no notes...didn't figure that out till reading other reviews on website. But even with the modification, the door knobs are awful. They stick, you turn the handle and nothing else moves (door stays closed!). For the price, the company needs to team up with another parts manufacturer and use the better inner-working parts with the nice looking trim pieces.
Quality detail shows
Comments:
Rubbed bronze finish creates the uniting detail in our careful upscale refurbishing of a previous 80s remodel. We love putting period character back into our 1923 flat.
