We've restored several turn-of-the-century homes and in the past bought old hardware that we've painstakingly refinished and refurbished the workings--and the bottom line is they never quite work well--they look great--but they just don't work that well. The hardware we've bought from House of Antique Hardware has been phenomenal!! It has the authentic look, the weight, and feel of the real deal and it works great!! We ordered hardware from several sites and the contractors checked all of the different door hardware and these won hands down! We recommend the mortise and not the contemporary--it may be a little harder to install but there is no comparison for authenticity.

variable quality from unit to unit (had to send some back). customer service was very good. but the installation instructions are weak (for professionals only). and its very expensive. but its awesomely beautiful.

This door set is gorgeous - it was EXACTLY the look we wanted. Unfortunately it is the worse performing door knob we have ever used. There were multiple parts that needed to be traded out, with no notes...didn't figure that out till reading other reviews on website. But even with the modification, the door knobs are awful. They stick, you turn the handle and nothing else moves (door stays closed!). For the price, the company needs to team up with another parts manufacturer and use the better parts with the nice looking trim pieces.

Looks great, but the operation could be a bit smoother. Also some information on the offset and drilling guide would be helpful for some.

Excellent value. Only con is that the screws are of cheap construction and easily strip.

I'm slowly fixing an 100 year old bungalow. Sadly most of the charm had been ripped out of the house over the years. These door sets were a perfect opportunity for me to add a bit of that charm back in. I couldn't be happier.
