3 1/2-Inch Solid Brass Door Hinge With Ball Finials

The hinge is fine, good luck finding it anywhere else, but the supplied screws might as well be made of butter. I snapped three heads with a hand-powered screwdriver. Couldn’t even extract them they were so soft. Ended up screwing into the remnants as if they were an anchor. Never seen anything like it. Keep your 100-year-old original screws when you go to put this one in.

Nice hinges, but terrible hardware. The hinge itself was solid feeling and had a good finish, but the hardware was subpar to put it nicely. The first problem was that the hardware pack had 8 philips and 8 flat head screws so to install the 2 hinges in the pack, you have to mix match the screws. The second and biggest problem is that the screws are cheap and weak. I predrilled every hole in the jamb and door, and installed the screws with a screw driver. The head on the fort 2 screws snapped off with leaving about 15mm of screw protruding from the jamb. I am very disappointed that such a nice hinge (and pricey) came with such awful and cheap hardware. I will be scraping the years of paint off my old hinges and returning these hinges as I cant tolerate buying nice new hinges and then having to buy all new screws because the ones provided could risk ruining the doors/ jambs and creating a whole new set of repairs.

Great Hinge . Screws are cheap. head broke of on one of them as I screwed into a pre drilled hole. Buy the hedge then find quality screws

great product. impossible to find hinges like this anywhere else. i spent hours looking online. i replaced my old worn rusted hinges on my french doors with new brass ones and i love it.

I 'm an Antiques Dealer for 30+ years. I have come to appreciate craftsmanship and quality. These hinges add just the detail I was looking for (not to mention they are exactly like the ones I replaced, except those were steel and impossible to refinish). Love the solid brass. Quality, Function and Beauty!

These are the only hinges I use when replacing the old.

They match our existing hinges(from when the house was built in 1948) almost perfectly

Used the hinges to replace the cheap set of steel coat brass hinges that the brass was gone and and starting to rust in the air from the salt fog! Nice polished finish ans fit the count set hinge location for both door and casing. The hole were slight different in location used the old match trick wit glue to plug the old holes and re-drill for the new hardware. Note the screw are also solid BRASS and of good quality with both a set of Phillips and straight. The straight are more to period but harder to install. Used the Phillips head. Would have liked then be of the newer thread style which is self cutting minor nit. but awesome product will use on all my doors as I refinish them over the next year!

Something happened in the brass. These are tarnished in a way that cannot be buffed out.

Replaced hinges in old house. Be forewarned, new screwholes will not line up exactly with old holes, be willing to do some plug patch and re-drill, but otherwise easy. Appearance much improved. Have used polished nickel and dark bronze, but good looking.
