3 1/2" Solid-Brass Mortise Strike Plate

Quality solid brass piece which is size and shape equivalent to what I have in my house from the 1930s. Very reasonable price. Until I found this at the House of Antique Hardware, I was going to pay $40 each for custom reproductions.

I needed to replace hardware on an antique door. These were perfect.

I couldn't find a strike plate to fit the exact measurements of my old mortise lock anywhere online, or in my local salvage store, except this one. Even so, when it arrived I realized I had measured it wrong by 1/32 inch in a few places (didn't think you had to be that precise, but you do) I considered replacing it but couldn't find any better fit. Fortunately, it only took a short time to file it down to the correct size. Now it fits perfectly and looks great. Highly recommended, make sure you measure carefully.
