fit with very little adjustment needed to door frame. Lead edge needed rounding so door catch would work smoother. But this is to be expected since this item can be used for both right and left opening doors.

This is a nice product, but be careful with the installation. The holes are chamfered on both sides of the plate, for reversibility. This forces the product to use non-standard extra-shallow flat head screws. The soft brass screws, combined with their shallow screwdriver slots, are very susceptible to stripping. Otherwise a good product, but it would be nice if they offered left and right hand versions, along with better screws, to avoid this problem.

I live in an old apartment building, built c. 1935, and these exactly match the existing strike plates (satin nickel). Excellent.

We have completely renovated a 1932 vintage home in River Forest, IL. During the renovation, all the doorsets and frame hardware were removed as everything was repainted. Inevitably, some of the original hardware was lost. This handy item is the same as the vintage strike plates that I need to complete the renovation. It works perfectly with the original Vintage lock sets. The only reason I put ""experienced handyman"" under ease of installation is that you need to be good with a hammer and chisel in order to get the cavities in the wood doorframe for the door lock to extend into. Mounting the plate itself is trivially easy.
