Description

The classic and versatile 3 1/2-inch ball tip door hinge has been a favorite since the late 19th century. Our authentic reproduction hinge has a loose pin with attached finial, slotted and Phillips wood screws, and heavy duty 1/8-inch thick leaves - just like the originals. Made of solid extruded brass for high strength and durability.

Dimensions: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" not including ball finials. Knuckle: 1/2" Dia. Leaf: 1 1/2" W. Leaf thickness is 1/8".

Hardware Tip

Question: How are butt hinges measured? Answer: The height is just of the leaf not including the finials and the width is the total open width of both leaves and the knuckle.

#1 QUALITY, #1 BEAUTY

I 'm an Antiques Dealer for 30+ years. I have come to appreciate craftsmanship and quality. These hinges add just the detail I was looking for (not to mention they are exactly like the ones I replaced, except those were steel and impossible to refinish). Love the solid brass. Quality, Function and Beauty!

I purchased several sets of these hinges last year, so I looked to you again when I decided to swap out all my interior door's hinges. Unfortunately, it became a nightmare.... I removed all doors/hinges so painters could paint walls and doors easily. When I went to rehang them on the NEW hinges, the screw hole locations on them were different (they weren't different on the first sets I purchased from you). Also, a high percentage of screws were of such poor quality, unusable, or easily broke when I used them that I had to throw them out. I have yet to figure out what kind of product to use to fill all existing doors' holes and jambs' holes, then of course I have to sand these areas, retouch paint, pre-drill holes, attach hinges and hang doors. It will be done some time, but I'm tired and stuck at this point. Any suggestions for a wood fill product that comes in a tube that can be fully squeezed into holes such as I have....and that can be easily sanded in tight spots, painted, drilled while still remaining strong enough to hold doors would be appreciated.

Great product and well made.

3 1/2"" Solid Brass Door Hinge!!

Comments:

The quality and price of this product is beyond comparison - it looks identical in form to the nearly 100 year old hinges already in my house, but are solid brass, not the plated steel that were there originally. I hand stripped some of the originals, and they just don't compare to this great product!

4' brass unlaquerd hinges

Comments:

Hinges were fine but the screws were cheap and most of them broke even though the holes were predrilled.

A Beautiful Fit

A solid and beautiful part that matched well with our original 1912 parts
