Description

The classic and versatile ball tip butt hinge has been a favorite since the late 19th century. Our authentic reproduction hinge has a loose pin with attached finial, slotted and Phillips wood screws, and heavy duty 1/8" thick leaves - just like the originals. Made of solid extruded brass for high strength and durability. Our hard to find 2 1/2" size hinge is perfect for large cabinet doors and built-ins.

Dimensions: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" not including ball finials. Leaf thickness is 1/8".

Hardware Tip

Question: How are butt hinges measured? Answer: The height is just of the leaf not including the finials and the width is the total open width of both leaves and the knuckle.

The hinges are made of heavy, quality material, and they operated smoothly. My only gripe is the straight slotted screws; they may be more ""period correct,"" but for someone used to modern fasteners they are almost worthless.

These hinges were the best that I have ever installed. The machining was so precise that they closed absolutely flat with no play. The pins removed easily and it was a nice feature that I could move the ball to either end of the hinge. Congrats on such a nice product at a most reasonable price.
