Description

The classic and versatile ball tip door hinge has been a favorite since the late 19th century. Our authentic reproduction has a loose pin with attached finial, slotted and Phillips wood screws, and heavy duty 1/8" thick leaves - just like the originals. Made of solid extruded brass for high strength and durability. The 4.5" size hinge works for most entry doors.

Dimensions: 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" not including ball finials.
Leaf: 2" W
Leaf thickness: 1/8"

Hardware Tip

Question: How are butt hinges measured? Answer: The height is just of the leaf not including the finials and the width is the total open width of both leaves and the knuckle.

A true loose pin

Comments:

The ball-tip is fixed to the pin like the old hinges which is nice. Slotted and Phillips screws come with each hinge. The countersinking for the Phillips is not right, so l had to recountersink them. All things considered, a good hinge.

ball finial door hinges

Comments:

the hinges were perfect on my circa 1900's french doors..i had the originals and they were in poor shape and had to be replaced....these hinges were correct from the ball finial to the bolt hole pattern to go onto the doors and casing.......thank you for an awesome product and will be ordering again from you!

Dissatisfied

Comments:

I ordered the hinge and when I received it came with slotted screws. That should have been my first clue of poor quality. Second one side of holes matched up with my project but other side is reversed so holes don't match up. I have to drill new holes. Just plain dum! Who does that! I will not recommend your products.

Great for my restoration project

Comments:

Worked well for my restoration of 1920's home. These were used for the non-public areas.

Great Job!

Thanks for the quality product and great service!

I would by again. Impressive quality.

Comments:

We used these hinges to replace original hinges on a heavy 130 year old door. We needed a hinge of 4"" size with the screw configuration that we could only find from House of Antique Hardware. Shipping was super fast especially with all the shipping delays going on now with the 'Pandemic"". I received the hinges in 2 days! My husband loved the twist-on ball on the hinge and was so impressed with the quality.

Look like the originals fro 1895

Comments:

These polished brass hinges were replacements for the originals on two late 1800s doors. I found just what I needed -- exact reproductions -- from a selection of available sizes. [...]They work well.

Screws are a pain

Comments:

The hinges took way too long to come in Regular slotted screws came with hinges , should be Phillips to ease with installation. Ended up using old screws

superior quality hinges at a fair price

I am a restoration contractor and deal in many situations where I must replace or restore various door and window hardware. These hinges were perfect replacements for the worn hinges of the front door of a 1910 historic house I am working on. The customers were very impressed with the fit and finish.
