Good quality and great look!
Comments:
These were what we needed to match a restoration project. They were of good quality, worked well and worth the price. I would suggest including screws of the same quality. The screws provided were fine but could have been better.
good quality, carefully packed
Comments:
These were replacements for originals which had become rusted. I had hoped (but did not expect) that the holes would exactly align with the originals but that was not the case. There were not standards back in the 1920s when our house was built so perfect alignment was really too much to hope for. Anyone doing the same thing should be aware of this and allow more time, since the old holes need to be refilled and the new redrilled.
Good Quality, Good Price
Comments:
Great product. Good price.
Good workmanship
Comments:
These are very well constructed hinges and they should give years of service. My only complaint is that it appears that the hinge mounting screws appear to be a #7. This size is not readily available at my local hardware stores. Because we were remounting salvage doors that had been mounted with #8, we had to up-size to a #8 which does not fit flush with the hinge face. If these could be machined to fit a #8 screw, I would give this a 5 star rating.
Great door butts

these door butts vere a perfect match for a 1920's period house interior door
Great Hinge at a Great Price

Well made hinge, looks great and works well.
Great hinge for historic homes
Comments:
I recently bought a two flat from the 1920s. The original closet doors had been removed at some poiunt and replace with cheap bi-fold louvered doors. Fortunately, the doors were stored in the basement. To rehang the doors, I needed new hinges and so purchased these. They worked great! They fit perfectly into the existing mortise and two of the three screw holes even lined up with the existing drilled holes. The match the existing hinges of other doors in the hosue well and I was thrilled that unlaquered brass was offered as a finish option. The only con would be that the screws they come with do not seem to be as high quality as the hinges and the screw slots got a bit hanged up with installation.
Great Hinge, skip the screws
Comments:
This is a great hinge and fit well in my 1930's home. The design and finish matched perfect with the home's other original hardware. However, the supplied screws were of poor quality. The finish did not match and chipped off, and the screws were weak. I used old original screws from another hinge. I would definitely purchase this hinge again, but not use the screws that are supplied.
great hinges to accompany my hard work
Comments:
Great hinges. I'm building my own period reproduction wooden screen doors and wanted really good hinges to highlite my hard work. The existing set lasted 100+ years and these look to be every bit as good quality and a match to boot. Don't buy to cheap ones--they are stamped thin, the pins are loose, the finish degrades quickly. Been there--done that--not going back.
Great match to the originals
Comments:
These hinges were a very close match to the existing within our clients home. We were impressed by the quality and the simple, yet rich details of these beautiful hinges.
