Perfect for our home

Comments:

Our 1913 Craftsman style bungalow needed electrical updates, and our electrician suggested replacing some of the original switches. I didn't want to lose the look of the original push buttons so I am so pleased to have found these. They have a similar ""snap"" feel to them. It is not exactly the same but pretty close. After installation they look pretty similar to the original ones. I purchased quite a few of these and also replaced some more modern switches added over the years with these to maintain the original look throughout the main floor. The electrician was pleased with them and impressed with the quality. He did some of the replacements and we did some ourselves.

Perfect touch to our remodel

The black push button with antique gold was a unique touch to our kitchen remodel. They are well crafted and the black with antique gold looks great against the white backsplash!

Small change but a big difference

Comments:

My ""new"" 1910 home needs reverse updating from 1955 plus some prettying-up and this was one small thing that made a huge difference from an aesthetic standpoint. Will be ordering more as I work my way through rooms. Love them.

This product mates the original switches exactly.

Would suggest this to anyone looking for items to keep the look with new technologies.

Very cool reproduction of a classic

Comments:

These switches look great. It's a shame they're so hard to find! Please see the photos as well. Pros: - Great reproductions of a classic look. - Packaged individually in a small cardboard box. - 3-way switches include a wiring diagram. Cons: - The wiring screws are not threaded into the switch body!!!!!! The screws are difficult to keep threaded out, so that wires can be attached- the installer needs to keep the switch tilted while attaching the wiring to ensure they stay out. ALSO THE SCREWS HAVE NO STOPPING MECHANISM. If you unscrew the screw enough, it will completely detach inside the switch body and it is a huge pain to completely disassemble the switch and reassemble!!!!! See below. - The device screws are very cheap quality, with a #6 Phillips head only. Modern screws are #6 Robertson/Slotted. The problem with these screws is that they will very easily strip if you encounter any resistance during installation. - Some switches mother of pearl buttons had excess white glue which looked really bad cosmetically. I used a knife to cut it away, but this is a detail which should not be overlooked by the manufacturer. - The switches are much larger in depth than regular single-pole switches. They are about the depth of a modern dimmer style switch, which means you'll definitely need some extra space in the box. This can create a bit of difficulty for installation, especially since the mounting screws strip very easily. Overall, not a deal-breaker. - The ground screws are not painted green... this seems odd. Since the switches are plastic, the ground seems unnecessary anyway. Not sure what metal parts of the switch are even being bonded to ground... I suspect the screw itself is the only thing being bonded(?)
