A nice reproduction option

Comments:

I bought this along with some dimmers to use in my living room. It has a nice look, especially with brass switch plates. It feels a little lower quality than the price. If you are switching from a true antique, you will definitely notice that it doesn't feel as solid.

Switch does work fine, but pearl tends to fall off

Comments:

I have bumped my rating down by two stars below ideal, for two faults: First, out of eleven of these switches I have so far installed in our Victorian home, two of them have had a mother-of-pearl button medallion fall off. When I reached out to the House of Antique Hardware, we were sent — for free! — a small packet of replacement mother-of-pearl medallions, but it was up to me to buy some glue and get them reattached. I used Gorilla Glue and so far they have stayed on. But it would have been nice for the vendor to either send glue as well, or offer to make the fix themselves. Second: the description touts its authenticity, but the button's action is far less impressive than the original switches, at least in our house. The big chunky internals of the old switches were made of heavy copper and sounded with a satisfying clunk — not merely a snap or click — when actuated. These modern switches, by contrast, offer only a faint twang when switched. They work fine; but don't expect them to impress a guest with how massive the actual switching internals feel when pressed. I still prefer these over modern switches, and will be buying a few more. But I'll keep glue handy.

Great unique look for my home bar!

Comments:

I had been looking for a some unique finishes for my home bar and found this switch and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! It looks great and it was really easy to install. 11/10 would recommend.

Great switch for period-correct look!

Comments:

We purchased this switch while updating the knob and tube wiring in our 1925 Sears home. We could not be happier with this switch! The quality and feel is top notch, and the original style and look is just awesome. Several people have commented on the switch not having the same ""click"" as the originals. Well those were made of Porcelain and Bakelite so of course they will have a more robust function. For a high quality modern grounded switch with traditional style you can't go wrong with these!

A perfect replacement

Comments:

I purchased an authentic reproduction of a push button light switch for my home that was built in 1925. I am happy that my purchase fit exactly.

A wonderful reproduction

Comments:

I'm in the process or replacing all the switches in my craftsman bungalow with push buttons. I find this product to have the fit, finish, and function I am looking for. The only complaint I have is that it is a little hard to get my wires fitted under the screw posts. They are original copper and a little thick. But once fitted it looks and works great.

A nice accent for our entry!

Comments:

This switch and plate replace one put in in the 60s in our 1919 bungalow. It was very easy to install and adds a little more of a vintage touch to our entry. I got it on sale for a good price. I'll be getting more for other rooms.

Looks good and easy installation.

Comments:

Looks exactly like my original 1930s/40s push button. Super easy install. The only con I have is the feel when you push the buttons, seems a bit plasticy. Not like the good old clunk of the original, I'd never know the difference if I hadn't used an old original before.

Pretty but loud

Comments:

These are really beautiful. We paired them with the unlacquered brass cover plates and they have really elevated our older home! They make a clunky sound when you use them, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. The installation was easy enough but took a bit of effort to get them positioned straight with the right depth for the cover plates, however we are in an old home so that's most likely due to our conditions. Overall, even with the sound, we are happy with these!

Switch in time

Comments:

The electrician put in a placeholder modern switch with a white plastic cover until I could get a proper pushbutton one. Rather a jarring look. Once the new switch was installed and my original brass switch plate affixed, all was right. I'm grateful you have these quality reproductions for my 1918 Craftsman.
