A great option to consider

It's really good to be able to find a dimmer like this, to be used in an old, classy house. A touch of modernity with a classic look. Unbeatable.
A stealth dimmer switch for push button switches.
Comments:
Switch installed much like today's designs. Size of the switch block was a challenge to fit into the box.
as I would hope

Installation was easy, and the installed switch looks pretty good. However, I am a bit disappointed in the feel of the on/off switch. It is pretty loose and the button click feels pretty weak. The dimmer dial feels much more solid, and turns with a slight amount of friction. Total rotational range appears to be ~280 deg. or so. From full on, rotating the knob ~180 deg. will dim the lights to the point of being off. However, that still leaves quite a bit of range that doesn't do anything. When turning the lights up, the knob will rotate ~180 deg from the full off position before the lights turn on. So there's a bit of overlap. Not a deal breaker, but sort of odd. The dimmer switch that this is replacing (toggle switch with dimmer slider) didn't have this issue. The slider worked across the entire range. Not too many options if you want a push button style switch with a dimmer, so while this switch could be better designed as far as operation (visually it looks great), it gets the job done.
Authentic and Cool!

I love this light switch! This is the third one I've purchased and it looks great in my industrial bar area.

Replaced the switch that was purchased here, and broke. The switch gets used multiple times a day so can't expect it to last forever. Looks like the original switches existing in our home.

Average push button dimmer switches

I renovated my 1880's circa house in historic Lewes DE. Trying to stay vintage with the house I wanted to do the push button switches everywhere. I liked that they were black and mother of pearl inlay on the buttons, BUT what they really are, are modern light switches outfitted with cheap plastic push buttons....and the push buttons come off. The push buttons are not solid and not attached in a way to prevent them popping off. So if you clean the switches and brush too hard...look out the button pops off. It's a pain. Might have to result to super gluing them on somehow...and I have about 30 of them in my house- combination of switches and dimmers.

No cheaper way to really upscale a room. I have a historic house that has had most of the original posh-buttons replaced over the years when they gave out. So I've been buying these few at a time and installing them to get that historic feel back. Makes a HUGE difference. Very easy to install as well if you know anything about electric. If not, just google it. Turn of the power first obviously üòÄ only negative I can think of is that they are a little loud when you turn it off ~boing~ #sweepstakes

Bought a few of these to install in our 1905 home in Texas. The quality is great and very easy to install. I'll be buying more as I work my way through the house.
