A Nice Alternative to Lever Style Switches

Renovating a House Boat for clients who wanted something beyond run-of-the-mill Hardware. These push-button switches pair nicely with the existing hardwood floors and architecture of the building/boat, as well as meeting the clients interior design style requirements. Aesthetically, it is nice to have found a product that uses real mother of pearl on the buttons. The only downside to these switches is that they are loud, making an audible ""BOING"" when operated, After conferring with the client, and running some tests we will be modifying these switches before install to dampen the noise. For those interested, here's how we did it: (However unless you are very familiar with mechanical switches and electrical safety I don't recommend attempting this modification.) We achieved a notable decrease in noise by disassembling the switches and adding a short length of high temperature rated heat shrink tubing around the long copper ""arm"" that the ""upper"" moving contact is mounted on, making sure to not cover the contact itself or Interfere with the mechanical operation of the switch . We achieved great results, but it is time consuming if you have more than a few switches to do! In future it would be great if the manufacturer changed the design to reduce noise, as most Consumers would likely not have the knowledge, or want to pay for aftermarket modifications.
Nice switch, pushes very easy and has a nice vintage click.

Home owner with a house built in 1900.
Project Saved by quality push button light switches

We were having a hard time finishing the design for a cabin remodel near Yosemite. The client was looking to redo a 70's constructed simple cabin and transform into a Japanese/American fusion with a trend towards industrial hardware. After searching for almost six months we stumbled upon House of Antique Hardware and found the perfect entry door light switch - a quality reproduction of the classic 1920's push button light switch. Project saved, the client couldn't be happier. It is rare you find a quality product at an affordable price that is also unique and timely - WELL DONE!

We bought this for a new Granny flat we're making look old to match our 1924 Craftsman bungalow. Excited to have real push buttons.
What I was looking for.

I was looking for something from days gone by for my 100+ year old home. This is a beautiful replica that works well. The mother of Pearl finish was a beautiful touch. My husband said it was easy to install.
Good quality, great price and quick delivery

Redecorating a new to us home with very large old yellowed plastic rocker switches (with pen writing on them to help the prior owner keep track of what each button went to) to push button lighting. Although our house is not the time period for push lighting (1960's mid century home), we love the style of push lighting as its a functional decoration and compared to the competitor (Rejuvenation/Williams Sonoma) the price can't be beat.
Nice switch. Looks good.

We found old switches like this in a 1925 house we purchased. These switches are very good look alikes to the old switches and work well.
Looks great; noise too quiet
Comments:
These switches work great and were easy to install (just like any other light switch). They also look great; no complaints there. I was disappointed with the tactile action and sound of the switch. My home contains several authentic push button switches, and these switches turn on and off with a strong throw and a resounding ""thunk"" noise. In contrast, these switches have a softer feel and the noise is more of a ""click"". If I hadn't felt the real thing, I probably wouldn't care, but having experienced the authentic thunk, these were a bit disappointing.
