Push button switches (Uugh!)

Comments:

These are great solutions to a very hard problem to solve. The issue is uniform quality. I purchased six switches for a job, and was disappointed that only three had what looked like mother of pearl inlays. Three were quite obviously injected plastic inserts which were trying to look the part. I could get by this, however, but I was dismayed that two out of six did not function, and I had to rebuild my brand new switches on the spot before I could finish the job. The failure was due to poor positioning of components inside the switch which was easily fixed, but usually would have set back a job two weeks or more in exchange processes. All are working satisfactorily at this time. It was refreshing to see a modern switch that was able to be taken apart and put back together easily, and will enable a cleaning or rebuild in the future.

push button switches...worth the money

Comments:

We purchased an old Victorian that needed several new switches. We were pleased with these push button ones. They have a nice tight feeling and are right at home in our front room. Would purchase these again.

We'll see how they last over time...

Comments:

I've installed a number of these switches in the house. I appreciate that they are available and that they can make early 20th century houses look more authenticate. They install easily and work fine, but they don't have a solid feel about them. One gets the sense the materials could be rethought to improve this. I also say this as I've notice that over less than a year the feel becomes less solid. I would only recommend this to other contractors only since I haven't found a better, more solid substitute.

Nostalgic piece

Comments:

I love this product. Since it is new and functions on a spring, the old hard snap when switching is replace by a ping of the spring. However, we are all limited to the health and safety requisites. I will be purchasing five more in the future with the art deco plate covers.

Great push-button switches

Comments:

We purchased the new push-button switches with solid brass plates and they look great and work almost like the old ones.
