This typical mid-Victorian combination works with everything, from a Greek Revival town house to a simple country farmhouse. A reproduction mortise lock with a solid brass face plate and interior components completes the vintage look.
This beautifully detailed sash lock is the crowning touch to your window restoration. Reproduced from an 1880s original, it features a lovely flower & scroll design, set off by a crisp, banded border. Finely crafted from strong and attractive cast brass or bronze, with your choice of a lacquered polished brass or weathered antique bronze finish. Over time humidity and use may cause the lacquer to wear, allowing natural and desirable aging to occur.
This set of Victorian-style Acme Black Cast-Iron Mortise Shutter Hinges (3 1/8-Inch x 2 1/2-Inch) is used in applications when enough wood trim is exposed within the window opening to mount the shutters. Unlike surface mounted straps, they are mortised into the edge of the shutter and the inside edge of the window frame (much like an interior door hinge). Mass produced by Lull & Porter in the mid-nineteenth century, the Acme hinge features a patented locking pintle design where the outer leaf rises slightly when opening then sets down to lock in place in the fully open or shut position, preventing lift-off from strong winds. When needed, the shutters are easily lifted off by hand without removing the hardware. Made of heavy duty cast iron, they feature a black weather-resistant powder-coated finish. The set includes two right-hand hinges, two left-hand hinges and two sill-mounted fasteners - enough to complete one window.
Our Square Sash Weight (5 lb.) easily combines with other size weights to create the proper counterbalance for smooth operating windows. When stacked together for instance, one 3 lb. and two 1 lb. take up the same space as one 5 lb. while moving just as smoothly within the window pocket. Ideal for use on new construction or as replacements for damaged or lost items.
P. & F. Corbin pictured this handsome neo-classical knob design in their 1905 door hardware catalog. Our faithful reproductions are forged from solid brass, giving you a lifetime of beauty and performance. Includes a 20 TPI threaded steel spindle.
