Door set dimensions: Oval doorknobs measure 2 3/4" H x 1 3/4" W. Back plates are 8 1/4" H x 2 3/4" W.
Latch dimensions: Latch case: 7/8" diameter. Latch face plate: 2 1/4" H x 1" W.
Standard door range: 1 3/8" to 1 3/4" thick.

I've ordered a number of different antique hardware items from this website and I am thrilled with all of them. This door knob set, in particular, changes the whole character of my home. I put this one on the door to my powder room, and added matching Brass Steeple door hinges, switch plates, and Hexagonal Cut Crystal and Brass door and drawer pulls to the vanity. I plan to add a matching set to the door across the hall which will complete the elegant transformation of my extended front hallway. Also purchased Acorn Tip Double Hooks to use as tiebacks for my draperies. The result is marvelous and adds value to my home, as well. Cannot recommend them enough.

All in all I like the door knob set. I am restoring an 1890 Victorian - Very pretty with my cherry doors. There is a quirkness to this installation. My professionals installed it without using the stop that directs the locking mechanism pointed toward the jam so the latch just spins around without direction unless the proper latch stop is installed. Not sure if my installers were inept or the product instructions are confusing? So at the moment until they are installed with the correct piece I have to turn the handle to latch the door each time I open and close the door.

In addition, the price was less than other suppliers AND the employees of House of Antique Hardware were extremely valuable in helping me order the correct hardware for different doors - dummy, working, etc. Would recommend using this company.

We keep getting locked in

I had a handy man install two of these. Despite ordering the privacy pin model, the pin was missing from both boxes. Pins were mailed to me. I then had to hire a locksmith to redo what the first man did because he had installed them wrong. (Due to the missing pins) The biggest issue is, both doors have had the inner knob becomes loose and fail to retract the lock, which will lock one in a room. Very scary. We have tighten them and had it reoccur. Now we have to keep credit cards in each room so we don't get locked in.
