Description

Crystal clear octagonal glass knobs have a fresh and elegant look that's never out of style. First offered in the 1850s, their popularity peaked at the turn of the century. Our modern reproductions feature top quality glass for extra clarity and a solid brass shank, offered in 4 classic finishes. Pair them with the matching beveled back plates (R-01BM-8866X) or rosettes (R-01BM-8871X) to create the perfect period door set.

Dimensions. Knobs: 2 1/4" diameter. Shank: 9/16" diameter, drilled for a 20 TPI spindle. Spindle: 3 1/2" L x 7mm". Includes set screws and an Allen wrench for mounting knobs to spindle.

Hardware Tip

How do I know what door knobs will work with a particular rosette or door plate? The knob shank diameter should be a little less than the inside collar diameter on the rosette.

Authenticity

Comments:

I purchased a 1915 Colonial home in a historic New England town. I needed to replace some original hardware that was no longer viable, and searched for replacements that looked authentic but worked like new. I found exactly what I needed here...

Better than the real thing.

Comments:

The finish lasts very well. The quality is much better than other repo's on the market. The only improvement would be to have 2 set screws to hold it against the shaft instead of just one. These parts are better than the real thing but no-one can tell it is not original. This is one feature everyone notices and compliments on.

Excellent match

Comments:

Excellent match to existing 1934 knobs in house.

Excellent match for our antique knobs

Comments:

The look and finish were great. The only problem with installation was that the center threaded rod was too long. In order to make it a snug fit I needed to cut it with a Dremel. That only took a few minutes and then it mounted fine. I did some minor adjustments to get it to turn smoothly. It looks great and you'd need to be really looking to tell it wasn't original.

Excellent Period Replacement Piece

Comments:

I would recommend adding a 5/8 inch rubber washer/gasket to both shanks which will allow for smooth operations and eliminate friction with back plate.

Fantastic oil rubbed bronze octagonal glass door knobs

Comments:

The oil rubbed bronze octagonal glass door knob sets really spruce up the doors in our 100 plus year old farm house! They are of excellent quality. The color blends perfectly with the patina of the existing door plates. We recently repainted the entire downstairs; these knobs really set off our fresh look!
