Great locks! Make sure you measure before buying.
Comments:
These locks look amazing! The casting details aren't super crisp but they look still look great. They ar every solid and heavy. They are very smooth to actually lock and hold our sashes together tightly. The only thing is that you should really measure your windows before buying. Our old wooden windows are not as wide as most, and as a result we actually had to grind down the back of the ""hook"" part of the lock to make these work. We used our bench grinder and it only took about 40 minutes to grind down 9 locks, and the back part is the portion that faces the glass so nobody will ever see it. If you have skinny windows these can work, but you might need to do a little extra work!
Great look and quality.

I am in the process of replacing the old hardware in our Victorian home with polished brass. I've searched many retailers for these items and have chosen House of Antique Hardware as my supplier. This was based on originally purchasing a few pieces to evaluate design, quality, price, and delivery. I am now committed to completing my hardware renovation using them.

I've replaced all the painted over sash locks in my 102 year old home. These are a great replacement, look for the price. Great quality as well.
Misleading dimensions
Comments:
These sash locks are very nice, period looking pieces. My one complaint is the dimensions of the catch provided in the description. The catch base is indeed about 1"" deep. But the hook part extends well past 1"", and on the windows were are restoring, once the catch is in place, the lower sash cannot be raised up. If you're not prepared to grind or cut the back of the catch off and you only have 1"" of space, these won't work.

Our house was built sometime between 1900 and 1905. Over the intervening hundred and twenty something years it went from a nice family home in a good neighborhood to a slum rental, and we have been bringing it back up (along with the neighborhood) for the last twenty-two years. The window latches are a nice upgrade for our recently refurbished kitchen. as we get the other windows stripped of their twenty layers of paint, we will certainly consider adding the same latches to all of them.
