What I expected

Comments:

Works great. I'm not an expert on these, but I believe they are designed to have a slight gap between the two. The first one I installed too close together and it didn't work as well. I left about an eight of an inch gap on the others and they work better

cast iron sash lock

Comments:

Looks great with the matching sash list on my almost 200 year old windows.

Nice product, but did not fit

Comments:

Nice product, but was too big for my existing window, so I was unable to use.

Fabulous Old Style Quality

Comments:

This is a great item! It is heavy duty and made with solid cast iron. It costs a little more than the cheap stuff out there, but this Cast Iron Window Lock will be around for 100 years, it is truly heavy duty and the real thing. Thank you House Of Antique Hardware for carrying quality products that make my home look warm and authentic. The small upgrades I'm doing using your products makes visitors think I've been out picking 100+ year old houses. Great product, great service and fast shipping! Thank you for making me feel like I'm important to your business. House Of Antique Hardware is the first place that I look for when I'm replacing the modern ""junk"" in my house.

Latches that match antique hardware

Comments:

My new windows came with brass hardware, not a good match for the rest of the wrought iron hardware in the antique house. These cast iron window locks look much better, and I only wish that the window company offered them as an alternative choice.

Good window lock

Comments:

Great product but get your own screws. The screws are way too soft and some of them didn't even have a stamped head, therefore, no way to screw them in!

Pretty much useless junk

Comments:

Basic hardware is ok. Screws are absolute junk, the head slots are random depth/width, screws break easily and bend. You must pre drill so oversized the screw won't hold or go buy quality hardware. If these cost 1.99 it might be okay, but this is not okay for an item priced this expensive

Nice look & function but...

Comments:

Sash lock itself is of good quality & appearance. ""As cast"" iron finish goes well in the right home. Supplied plain steel screws were of poor quality. Slots too shallow to drive well. Easy to strip the slot unless your driver tip is sharp & you really bear down when running them in. If you try to substitute w/ home inprovement screws, they will have plated zinc finish & not age correctly with the sash lock.

Silver not black

Comments:

I ordered this product a year ago and loved it. It was exactly what I wanted, but my most recent order came with silver colored locks instead of the black cast iron locks I thought I was getting. It's been a pain but I decided that if we moved some hardware fr other rooms, I could live with it. [...]

Buying them for all our windows!

Comments:

Since brass and chrome are passe, the dark iron offers a rich classic, yet still modern finish.
