As stated on the product ""This lock has egress and can cause lock outs if the stop button is not disengaged when exiting the door."" Note this is EGRESS ONLY. Most all good mortise have stop buttons on the side to make the lockset egress only as an option. This is always egress only and you have to push the stop button every time you use the door in order to use the door without a key. I was locked out of my house 3 times getting the mail and watering the garden. The description does not say this. All good locksets have egress option but not egress only. I'm so extremely disappointed and the directions don't state this either. This is pretty unusable for a household that uses the front area of the house and need to shut the door but still want to enter without a key... Unusable for average households especially if you have children, easy to lock yourself out of the house.
Replacement of Entry Loock

To replace a damaged entry lock.
Requires some skill
Comments:
This required Some door modification, however this door has not worked this well in the 18 years we have owned this house. A locksmith that looked at the old latch said ""are no longer available"" WELL... this did require some wood chisel work and one new hole and a little filler but after paint you would not know that this was not the 1934 original!!!!
