Beautiful and so well made!
Comments:
These were exactly what I needed after every original mortise lock and handle was accidentally thrown away during a restoration of a duplex. These fit beautifully with minor cutting and patching of the doors (very minor!) The only reason I recommend a skilled handy man is for this purpose. So easy to install otherwise. Beautiful reproduction! Thank you
Beautiful finish and solid feel

A previous owner painted all of the door hardware and we can't wait to replace it all. We already replaced the hardware for one door and we couldn't be happier. The door is a 100 years old and it did not need much tweaking for the lock to fit.
Beautifully authentic along with authentic operation

Beautiful brass and matches all of our original knobs in the house. The only thing we haven't been pleased with is the screws holding knob on bar comes loose a lot.
Better than originals!

We live in a home built in 1930. Some of the original door sets are failing and we have tried to replace them with cheap look-alikes bought at the corner hardware store. Low and behold, 6 months later we realized they are junk! The House of Antique Hardware beautifully finished (oil rubbed bronze) New York Mortise lock set was heavier and far better quality than the original sets that were installed in the house. We will be replacing every door set in this house. Thank you for creating such a wonderful, quality product. ""You never regret buying quality!""
It's all in the details.

My wife and I renovated our prewar 3-BR in BK and we wanted to compliment the beautiful metal door-frames we had stripped. We replaced the cheap brass doorknobs with brushed nickel mortise sets. What a difference. They look spectacular and it's finishing touches such as these that really created just the home we wanted. The only difficulty in installing them was that they didn't always line up with the existing holes in the door-frame. Our Super chiseled them a bit to make them fit, but we're going to end up getting some custom strike-plates made so that they fit perfectly. I am very happy with our purchase and I hope the above is helpful to you.
Look & work great!

We remodeled the bathroom in our 112 year old home. we decided to keep the old hinges on the doors, which were beautiful after we removed the old paint The antiques door knobs still worked well, but the skeleton keys were long gone and we wanted to be able to lock the doors. The oil rubbed brass lock sets I bought matched the old ones perfectly. The only difference seems to be the knobs are slightly smaller.
New York mortise lock set (bronze)
Comments:
Overall a nice product. More economical than mortise sets from other sites. Only criticism is that the mortise box itself is not finished in bronze. A bronze plate is provided to cover the brass but the plate doesn't fit perfectly so the brass finish is visible. Also the latch is brass which looks funny with a bronze set.
Nice Lockset
Comments:
Very nice working lockset. The lock reverses easily and the knobs have a great threaded spindle. The skeleton keys work well. There is a lot of spring in the lock. The only complaints I have with this product are the phillips screws ( as opposed to slotted) and the strike plate is a little thin.
Nothing bad about this doorknob

This is a very nice doorknob. Sturdy, smooth, attractive. Very solid feeling. I just wish it weren't so pricey but you get what you pay for.
Old World style for today's world

We replace the original lock set that was installed on the original door in our home in 1900. It simply was not able to be restored. The new one is fantastic and fits the period and style of our grand old lady. Thanks
