Description

Our tailored New York back plate has a timeless appeal. Whether your style is Victorian, Craftsman, or Mid-Century modern, this spare, beveled design will fit right in. While the originals were typically made of stamped brass or copper, this heavy-duty reproduction is forged from solid brass. At 2 1/4" wide, it works on pre-drilled doors or with vintage mortise locks. For a complete New York door set, pair this back plate with the matching round knobs (R-01NW-701019X).

Dimensions: 7" H x 2 1/4" W. Inside collar diameter: 5/8". Center to center spacing of keyhole to knob collar: 2 1/4".

Hardware Tip

How do I know what door knobs will work with a particular rosette or door plate? The knob shank diameter should be a little less than the inside collar diameter on the rosette.

Deceptive Pricing

Comments:

Product is fine, same as it always was and high quality. Not so sure about company. Raised price by 25% on exact same product that was ordered a month ago. At the same time they offer a 25% discount for July 4. Coincidence? Have to buy this to match others already ordered but will look to a more reputable organization for other restoration parts.

Comments:

replacement piece for original mortise lock set for entry door, quality is excellent, lock is also excellent but skeleton key hole does not align with opening for skeleton key in mortise lock

Solid & Well-crafted.

Spend the extra bucks and go with forged

Comments:

The collar that the knob fits into, is not tapered like the plates [...]

We KO'd the doorknob genies

Comments:

Replaces poor quality item which dented over time, looked cheap and didn't hold onto the stem & knob. I also bought a few full passage sets for important doors and had my contractor install them last month in my 75 year old house--required much experience to retro-fit my doors. He said the collars could fit better than they do, but on the whole it is a good product. So far no doorknobs have loosened or fallen off.
