While I was looking for forged brass plate covers, I was thrilled to find matching switch plate covers for my early 1900's farm house! Between these switch plate covers and electrical plug covers, I have found a perfect match for the hardware on my old wood doors, which was in keeping with the restored look I was trying to achieve. The aged finish was perfect! People thought they were original to the house. Fairly expensive and disappointed not to have matching screws - not sure where to purchase screws separately. I can find plenty of white, off white and brass but not antique brass!

Beautiful and subtle. But since they're a bit thicker than standard switchplates, if the switch is set slightly too deep, the screws don't reach far enough.

Forged Brass Covers Look Fantastic

Would be excellent, except, when I tarnished the switch and outlet covers with the solution I purchased at the same time, letters and numbers from the manufacturing process appeared on the covers - I had to gently buff with steel wool and water, and then retarnish to achieve the desired effect.

Ordered switchplate in an oil rubbed bronze and was completely satisfied with the finish, style and heft of this product. Guests comment that it looks as though the hardware is original to the house. That is what we were hoping to achieve.

This is a handsome piece with clean edges. It's quite different in character from stamped plates, and I'm glad I took the plunge and went with it. Nice glow in the finish too. Definitely a good decision for something I see every day!
