Description

Need a replacement for a missing, or an old or broken strike plate for your Windsor-pattern mortise lock? Our sturdy reproduction features the same whimsical aesthetic design introduced by Reading Hardware in 1885. The solid-brass construction is made to last---helping to keep your doors working smoothly for years to come, and it's reversible for left or right handing.
When using this as a replacement plate, it is important to carefully measure the space between the bolt and latch cutouts to ensure proper fit.

A great striker plate

Comments:

Striker plate was a very good match to our antique lock set.

Brass Strike Plate

Comments:

beautiful and functional.

I have an 1894 house

Comments:

Latch tongue should be lightly beveled on both sides of the contact edge. I have ten original 1894 locks that work great and only one original strike plate. If the bar between the latch and the dead bolt was only 5/16 instead of 1/2 this might be usable. Other than the bevel issue these would be great for someone whose locks allow for a 1/2 inch bar.

I would buy from this company again

Comments:

The item I purchased was not in stock and the company notified me immediately and replaced the item with a similar one which worked out well as we needed to fix the door in order to lock it. Great customer. Service

Nice, not great

Comments:

Does not fit the old original slot. You will have to enlarge it. Even then these, while well done, do not make a striking difference. The added length is problematic to me.

Restoration

Comments:

I bought an antique door for my new home. After refinishing and replacing all of the hardware, I realized I didn't have the strike plate. I found the perfect one here - die can get installed!!
