""If you are searching for period hinges""
Comments:
We used these hinges for a period look on old cabinet doors, very good quality, very easy to install and work great. Everyone thinks they are 125 years old! They are oiled so make sure you clean them well before adding to your project.
Beautiful but not crafted quite right
Comments:
The hinges we ordered were to lay flat on both the unit and the doors to the unit however, the middle hinge part was not flattened enough to allow it to lay flat. We had to put shims behind the screw plates to have it lay flat. I would think this could be easily fixed in manufacturing.

great fit for my 1873 home

I used the larger hinges for a closet door, and the smaller version of the hinges for a 3-door armoire that had been redone without much concern for the period, refitted with standard brass hinges. it's an imposing old ash piece, and it deserved better. the hinges look very much like the handmade 1800's hinges already part of the house, so both the closet and the large old armoire looked great with them and they fit right in.
Great Match, perfect fit.

Installed on old fashion ice chest door.
Need better quality control
Comments:
Some hinges have too much play and required a small washer to be inserted to take up slack. One arrived with a broken tip.
Nice 2x2 hinges.

Hinges are great. Really needed lift off hinges for restoration of roll top desk, but these were very close in appearance. The screws are junk, and would strongly suggest throwing them away. I predrill hinge scew holes, and still they snapped. Beyond irritated. After replacing with a real metal screw everything worked fine. Pins are loose enough to pull out by hand. I'd by again.
Overall pleased

Overall I was pleased with the product. Two things I didn't care for though. One the flat head screws. I've never like flat head screws. Although I assume this is what the original hinges would have had. The second is the hinge would not sit flat with door and the cabinet facing, causing the door to swing open on its on. I had to route out the area for the barrel to allow the hinge to sit flat and the door stay closed.
Review of Cast Iron Cabinet Hinges
Comments:
The problem with our hinge is that it would not allow the door to close flush. We opened an additional package and that hinge worked.
