Solid Brass Reversible Oval Hoosier Latch
Description
This authentic reproduction, reversible Hoosier-style oval latch is an excellent choice for new cabinets, or as a replacement for a worn or damaged piece. Made of solid brass, it's available in your choice of an unlacquered brass or polished-nickel finish. This set comes complete with one flush catch and one 3/8" offset catch, which are centered for use with both right and left-handed doors.
Dimensions. Latch: 2" H x 1" W. Tongue: 11/16" L. Projection: 7/8". Catch: 1 1/2" H x 5/16" W. Projection: 7/16" (flush) 11/16" (offset).

Hardware Tip
Offset means that the surface of the cabinet door projects out from the cabinet frame, usually 3/8" or 1/2". Offset hinges and latches are surface mounted to the door and the frame of the cabinet.

Nice new finish. The perfect item would be one that shows wear, congruent with that on the 100 year old furniture item. But I don't expect that in a new piece of hardware, at a reasonable price. The latch perfectly matches the others on the unit, except for patina of wear.

All the latches were broken on my Hoosier cabinet so I ordered new ones that looked like what was on the cabinet. The new ones had to have a lot of adjustments to fit my cabinet. The doors were thicker than the allowance on the new latches. It was a painstaking process to make those adjustments. The new latches do look great and I couldn't find anything like them locally.
