Truly authentic solid brass door knobs
Comments:
We just purchased a home built in 1929 with beautiful original door sets. One of the doors was missing the knobs. The set we just purchased is an exact duplicate of the others. So so happy!
Great feel. Great finish. Tight assembly!!

Bought several for french/door windows
Antique style door knob
Comments:
The rosette is necessary for use and does not come with it, which doesn't make sense. Also, the stem is too long, so the knob shifts back and forth..
These are wicked nice door knobs
Comments:
Knob is small and heavy and feels good in your hand. I like how it has two set screws to keep it from moving on the spindle, but I would have preferred slotted screws rather than allen screws - they would have made the knobs seem more authentic. Also, one of my knobs arrived with an allen screw screwed in backwards. If the small allen wrench provided doesn't fit into the screw, you may have the same the issue. I think I used needle nose pliers to remove it - not a big problem.
Beautiful, authentic looking!

Knobs were very authentic looking and well crafted. The holes in my doors were too large for knobs.

We have an early federal period plantation house in Maryland. Finding replacement parts and compatible hardware has been really difficult. Most modern door hardware components are too large and too ornate for the federal period. These knobs are the only product I have found that is close to the size and style for many federal period houses. They are not the same as our original knobs that are oval, hollow and slightly smaller. The style is close enough for all but purists. The knobs have a really nice heavy feel, and they are very well finished an polished. The knobs are locked to the spindle by two set screws, a really nice feature. My only minor complaint is that the spindle threads are cut a little short for standard modern doors. When used with the 1 7/8 colonial rosettes the knobs wobbled since they did not tighten enough. I had to file a little off the un-threaded portion of the spindle to properly tighten the knob set. This is not a serious problem, if you have a file, or you can shim it with a thin washer. These knobs go well with the 1 7/8 colonial rosettes.
