Good Ole Time Lock

In replacing a missing door, I needed to match 1900 era locks in other doors.
High quality repro

Measure to make sure will fit - I had to do quite a bit of chiseling to get them to fit, and also re-drill the knob and key holes a bit. That said, well worth the effort as this is beautiful and exceeded my expectations. Very solid, smooth construction. NOT a flimsy brass overlay - this is solid and heavy-duty. Would have appreciated to have a diagram for how to reverse the handedness as was a little more involved (and goopy from the grease) than I anticipated. Luckily I had two, so could use the second one to refer to how the spring needed to fit.
I would order this again if needed.

The doors in my home are over 100 years old. When the latch broke I just could not go to the local hardware store for a replacement. They don't even make doors the size of the one I have. I checked the Internet for Antique Hardware and your Companies name came up. I contacted them and the person I worked with was extremely helpful. I am completely satisfied.
Matches Existing Hardware in 60 yr old Home
Comments:
Got locked in the bathroom too many times, but these mortise locks are difficult to find locally. And it is necessary to buy the complete lockset when you do find one; Our old home door knobs have a unique patina that we wanted maintain. At House of Antiques I was able to find the mortise lock only. Some of the mortise lock reviews noted a cheap design of inferior material. After reading many reviews from the different mortise locks I settled on this one as it had none of those complaints and yet had a decent price point. I am not disappointed.

This product is of very high quality. Somewhat pricy but worth it to me. Had to chop mortis the hole a little but that's not too hard if you have the right tool(s).

Mortise Lock With Solid Brass Faceplate
Comments:
Item is too costly for what you get. The lock was attached to the faceplate at a slight angle on the set we received. Should have been perfectly straight. Useable but not the quality I expected for the price.
Nice product but not enough product information
Comments:
This would have been a good purchase if there were more dimensions of the lock in the description. Only the size of the mortice lock, strike plate and back set were provided. However, the dimension between the tongue and the deadbolt were not mentioned and was a lot larger than what I needed.
