Solid Brass Transom Window Latch With Choice of Finish
Description
This spring-loaded latch is typically installed at the top of the window sash and operated with a pull chain or pole-mounted transom hook (use transom chains to keep the sash from falling open). The base of the strike is mounted to the inside of the window frame and the catch portion protrudes over the sash, in order to engage the latch.
Dimensions:
Latch Base: 2 1/8" L x 1 1/2" W
Projection: 7/8"
Strike Plate: 1 5/8" L x 11/16" W

Excellent Detail - Excellent Price

Excellent hardware to ""complete"" the renovation.... price point makes you say ""why would I strip 10 layer of paint off the existing....""
laundry chute latch

Matches the gleaming finish we have existing in our laundry area! Also used this product as a window latch and wanted similar finish for laundry chute latch.
Match that transom
Comments:
We had a house with 2 transoms and 7 doors. We cut out, built to match and installed transoms over all interior room/hall doors and replaced hardware on the existing one. The homeowner was thrilled with the look and operability. Thank you again. David Guinn
Nice Finish, Good Looking, Sticks a Bit
Comments:
Nice look and finish. Design of product is great for use with transom windows. Finish is a nice oil rubbed bronze. Only complaint is that of the three I ordered, two work well, but one of them sticks quite a bit when trying to pull the latch down. A little dry lubricant should fix that problem.
Oil Rubbed Bronze Transom Window Latch
Comments:
Our remodel included a transom window above the back door. This latch was the perfect locking solution. Looks great!
Poor operation
Comments:
Looks great. Operates poorly. Sticks frequently and is hard to unlatch. Feels chintzy...and has the sound of a cheap spring inside.
Quality materials, aside from screws
Comments:
The latch and catch are both very well-made; my issue is with the quality of the screws provided. Brass is soft, but one of the screws snapped while I was working at putting the screws into the window frame. Aside from that, fantastic latch.

transom latch not for use with pole
Comments:
I used these latches on some cedar shutters and the body, being made of stamped brass instead of cast brass, twisted apart when using the pole. They might work okay if operating by hand only.
Transom Latch Problem
Comments:
This Transom Latch worked perfect after I lubricated it. The only complaint I have is that I could not buy it with the correct female mating part that I needed for my cabinets. Jerry.
