Galvanized Iron Faux Shutter Hinge With Black Powder-Coated Finish

These dummy shutter hinges were the perfect touch to our 1930 Cape Cod house! The previous owner had put on fixed shutters and, with other interior updates to do, we opted to use the dummy shutter dogs and hinges for the time being. They absolutely transformed the appearance of our shutters with minimal work--although more these hinges took more time than the dummy shutter dogs as there were two hinges per shutter.

I like the look created by the addition of this hardware to the shutters on our new home. The extra detail adds curb appeal. We have already received compliments from the neighbors. I especially like the heavy feel and finish.

I ordered these assuming they were 3-D. I intended to counter sink them on the sides of some fixed shutters to match the Real acme hinges on a working window...so that they projected out a bit in a bulbous fashion. They arrived & I realized they were flat. They aren't as ""real"" looking as I'd hoped since they are flat, but I installed them anyway. From the road I think it adds a finished look.

These faux iron hinges completed the very authentic look we were going for on our new Country French shutters. The company that made and installed our shutters was highly impressed and wanted to know where we purchased them. Of course I told them ""House of Antique Hardware!
