Description

The bolt on this colonial style shutter fastener is nearly 1/2" thick - the thickest and strongest we know of. Made of very heavy duty cast iron, it keeps your shutters securely battened down. Finished with a black primer coat (paint before installing).

Dimensions:
Backplate: 7 3/4" L x 2" W x 1/8" Thick.
Bolt: 7 3/4" L x 1/2" W x 1/2" Thick. Bolt slides 1 1/16" from the open position.
Fastener/s: #6 x 3/4" wood screws

Not as strong as I thought

Comments:

the screws were poor quality, they did manage to work so far it's been 3 months. It's not easy to lock and unlock. I wish we got something bigger for our shutters, they are 6 ft by 3 ft, these were a learning experience. not worth the cost.

Not sure if it's painted or primed

Comments:

It's not clear from the description if this is primed or painted. After installing it, I'm pretty sure it's painted with a real ruff powder coat. It's an unusual finish that I've not seen before, but it looks good and seems very hard.

Shutter Bolt Satisfaction

Comments:

As part of a custom home remodeling project I needed to put shutters on irregular shaped windows over the garage. The original builder put shutters on all the other windows on the front of the home and the homeowner wanted shutters on these windows as well. I had to custom build the shutters to match the originals and had difficulty finding hardware that would be consistent. Your product worked terrific. The quality, design and speedy delivery was much appreciated.
