Description

Introduced by Yale & Town around 1910 as part of their popular Flemish Renaissance line, the "Largo" is every bit as appealing today. With its elegant scrollwork and lush, classical foliage, this lovely door set complements every formal decor. You'll find the weighty and decorative oval knobs as pleasing to the hand as to the eye. Re-sized from the original to accommodate modern pre-drilled doors, this vintage design is paired with a tubular latch for trouble-free installation. The Largo is finely crafted from solid forged brass for a lifetime of quality and enjoyment, and comes in our exclusive Antique-By-Hand, a living finish that ages gracefully over time into a beautiful natural patina.

Door set dimensions: Oval doorknobs measure 2 3/4" H x 1 3/4" W. Back plates are 8 1/4" H x 2 3/4" W.

Latch dimensions: Latch case: 7/8" diameter. Latch face plate: 2 1/4" H x 1" W.

Shoddy contstruction

Comments:

Knob is secured in place with flimsy hex screws. Doesn't hold up well. Metal on spindle is cheap. Comes from Nostalgic Warehouse.

the finish is lovely

Comments:

we replaced a broken fairly simple knob on our 1924 house. the detail and finish look amazing. even the screws look hand made. the attention to detail was beyond expectation. we also bought the pink crystal knobs that are the same cut as the original ones we had. you can see in the pic the antique brass finish is a touch brighter and doesnt quit match the antiques by hand, but the combo works so well we kept it for one side. we got the modern door verson with the key hole. the key hole is just a hole to the door, so we painted chalk board paint behind it before installing. it looks like a normal key hole until you get a couple inches from it.
