a perfect finishing touch

I am partially restoring a victorian style home built in 1875. Replacing the modern heater vents with theese really made the entire room look more authentic. i love them and will be replacing all the vents in my home.

We had searched locally for a floor vent that would fit in our home with no success. We got online and House of Antique Hardware sent us the beautiful cast iron vent in a few days. We will go there first next time we need hardware for our home and save a lot of time!!

had problems in the past with cheap grates. the choirs would fall through. not with this one . very sturdy and stand on it with no problems.

The item is made in China and while I try to avoid products produced in China, this one is an exception and is good. However, be warned, the packaging for the product really smells. I was afraid the item was going to smell the same but luckily that is not true. I don't know what it is about stuff that is shipped from China, but the packaging is usually inadequate or smells.

we've purchased cheaper versions of this floor grate from big-box stores and the first time you step on them or push furniture legs across them they bed and scratch -- not this grate. they are so strong and solid. We purchased this item with several other items for the renovation of our 1875 Victorian building. we had to buy a lot of items (knobs, hinges, vents, etc) so we did a lot of research and House of Antique Hardware had the best prices for what we were looking for. They even consulted with us on styles appropriate for our space. I would definitely order from them again.
