Description

These Early-American Butterfly Hinges (2 1/4-Inch X 2-Inch) are as simple as can be. Based on the hand-wrought designs of Colonial blacksmiths, they are a distinctive alternative to H or strap-style cabinet hinges. Made of stamped steel with a satin-black, lacquer finish.

Dimensions: 2 1/4" H x 2" W
WARNING: California Proposition 65

I have a wonderful early American home the hindges are great

Comments:

The hinges I bought perfectly match the ones in my Early American home, which is located in a town founded in 1764.

As expected, thanks to reading other reviews

Comments:

Using these hinges on small boxes meant to appear as being from the early 1700's. They have a distinctive look at a reasonable price. Not made in the USA, and as others have noted, the ""finished"" side is wrong, the unfinished side will be facing out. OK for our purposes since we will be stripping the paint and going for a rough and aged look anyway, however, if the appearance is critical for your project be aware that you may want to polish the edges and possibly repaint. Can't comment on the non-period-authentic Philips head screws since we're not using them, except to say are not machined for countersinking since the screwholes are not recessed on either side anyway. Should be fine for all but the most demanding purposes, and even then with some slight modifications.

Hinges are finished on the wrong side

Comments:

These hinges are manufactured very strangely. The finished (smooth, round edges) side of the hinge is the back of the hinge, and the front is unfinished (rough, sharp edges). I inquired if this was some kind of error, but according to customer service, it is not. I'm going to buy a similar style of hinge from another company b/c I refuse to put these backward hinges on the cabinet I worked so hard to build.

Will definitely buy again.

On a cabinet.

Push buttons are awesome

Comments:

Have several original push button "" switches "" dating back to 1835. These are classic addition to the house.

Black Antique Hinges

Comments:

The 2 sales people that worked with me were very helpful in trying to find me a match for my antique hinges.

Works great for my product

Comments:

The butterfly hinge work as a replacement hinge when restoring old furniture or building new.I use old doors and windows to give my furniture a worn New England look. The folks at antique hardware are the kind of people other suppliers could take lessons from for there service

The hinges were perfect.

Comments:

The hinges were the perfect replacement for the hinges I removed from the original cabinet. I was unable to save the original, rusty hinges, but these look even better. I am going to purchase a few more sets for another cabinet I have just started working on.

beautiful detailed hinges

Comments:

The unique flair these hinges give our shelf and cabinet is amazing.
