Best Quality Hardware Available

Comments:

I am restoring a house built in 1940. Replacing the original ball tipped hinges was required because they were badly over-painted and had rust. These hinges I purchased from House of Antique Hardware were exact reproductions of the originals, right down to the alignment of the screw holes! High quality, strong, brass plated steel, and at a great price, exemplifies their superior quality. I have purchased other items from House of Antique Hardware and everything I purchased was of the same superior quality and authenticity to the original hardware I am replacing. They are simply the best and I would not even look to purchase hardware from any other source.

Binding Hinges

Comments:

I have purchased these hinges from you on several occasions. The first couple of batches were OK, although the oil rubbed bronze finish seems to come off a little easier than it should. The last batch I purchased, about 50% of the hinges bound so badly when you tried to open and close them I had to pry the hinge leaves apart with a screwdriver! I sent them back [...]At a price of [$]/hinge, this should not happen. So at this point, I'm not sure which is the anomaly, the good hinges or the bad hinges.

Brass plated steel hinge

Comments:

When we were selling my parent's home, I wanted to take something from their home and to incorporate it into ours, so I took an old painted door that had just been collecting dust in the basement. The door is a 15 lite interior one from the 30's. I stripped it, and was able to polish up the original glass knobs - they cleaned up beautifully, but the rest of the original hardware was so battered it would never be right. When I looked locally they had nothing, so I checked out salvage houses and they were so expensive it wasn't worth it. Then I found your ball tip steel hinges. I wasn't sure about buying on line, but the reviews I read seemed good so I ordered them. It was a wonderful surprise to see how nice the plating was, and the heaviness and tightness of the hinge gives the door a wonderful swing. Thank you for the nice product, I will be back, and I will be sure to recommend and steer others to your site. Sincerely

Bronze door hinges

Comments:

I recently refinished all the doors in my 110 year old house. After striping the paint off the door knobs and plates they were a beautiful bronze. The door hinges were in too poor of condition to save. The hinges I purchased here were a perfect replacement and matched the door knobs excellently. I will be purchasing more items from you. Outstanding quality.

Done with bad looking old hinges.

Comments:

These hinges were for a room in need of restoration. 1924 home with original hardware (not all premium) and a lot of work needed when redecorating (restoring). Standard hinges would work, but do not look as good or fit like the original style. The finish was perfect (satin nickel) and a fresh look compared to the steel with plated brass of the originals. Look forward to more purchases.

exceeded our expections from the product to the prompt shipping

Extremely heavy duty

Comments:

I live in a 1930s bungalow and the original hardware is here, but in rough shape. I knew I needed new hinges for my doors but was worried that I wouldn't be able to find something historically accurate as well as well made. I found it here. These hinges are extremely heavy duty and were simple to put into place. They look great! They are identical to my 1930s hinges.

Good experience Overall

Comments:

[...]I had bought the wrong product and the return process was not hard at all. The product was well made just not the correct thickness (my mistake).
