Description

Our Craftsman-Style Mortise Handleset with Choice of Interior Knob or Lever captures the true spirit of Craftsman design. The distinctive window-pane pattern, originally known as Bastille, was designed by Pacific Hardware of Los Angeles around 1912. Choose from an array of knobs and levers. Made of forged, solid brass, this sturdy set will last for years to come.

Door set dimensions: Exterior handle is 8 3/4" H x 1 1/8" W and projects 2 5/8". Exterior and interior backplates are same and measure 11" H x 3" W.

Mortise lock dimensions: Backset is 2 1/2". Lock case: 5 1/2" H x 3 1/4" W x 3/4" thick. Lock face plate: 8" H x 1 1/4" W. Strike plate: 4 7/8" H x 1 1/4" W. The lock includes a 1 1/2" cylinder and 2 standard keys.
Mortise lock box: ANSI F20 function with stop/release buttons.

This set is designed to fit standard exterior doors of 1 3/4" thickness that open inward. For reverse handed doors that open out, thicker doors, dummy sets, double cylinder option, or F13 function without stop/release buttons, please call for assistance.

This lock has egress and can cause lock outs if the stop button is not disengaged when exiting the door.

Functioning Piece of Sculpture!

I ordered this door entry set based on style, our case, Arts & Crafts Bungalow. Opening the box, I was surprised by the heft of the product: it is solid and good looking. Indeed I find that it has a sculptural quality about it"". The iconic grid"" of Macintosh stands out against the door, the egg-shaped inner handle fits the hand ergonomically-- the Bentley of exterior door entry sets. A much experienced carpenter who was renovating the entry area installed the door locks, plates and handles. This required a little more time because the door is original to the house (1912) and made before doors were standardized; both of these lock sets were made for today's door. The carpenter was as delighted as a Cheshire cat, admiring the beauty of his final installation. Thank you. Mightily pleased...

Never Again

Comments:

Permanently locked out of the house. When you lock the door with a key it automatically locks the privacy button lock. Using the key you can not get back into your house. Tried to Call House of Hardware but it is closed on Saturday. Terrible directions.
