Beautiful Lockset
Comments:
I purchased this lockset to install on a period reproduction door I am making for our Craftsman style home. The lockset is beautiful and is at least as nice as I had hoped. The lockset comes with a full scale installation template, which is helpful.
Excellent quality and authentic character craftsman lockset
Comments:
Mortise lock was a Great match for reproduction 1/4 sawn white oak/1/4 ribbon mahogany ""Greene and Green"" entry doors. Would recommend to high end customers who care for quality and longevity. Would recommend for commercial applications as well.
Great looking lock set, a few quirks in performance.
Comments:
I bought this to install on a side entrance to match an existing antique front door entry. I have purchased other Emtek items and have been satisfied. This one has been the exception. My contractor installed it, and didn't have too much trouble with the lack of written troubleshooting details (the directions are just one page of pictures with few words), but we had some trouble with the final operation once installed. One annoying detail I would have liked to know about before purchase...if you lock the door using the deadbolt, then exit the house by turning the knob, it unlocks itself on the inside but the exterior knob still stays locked unless you push a button on the lock panel to unlock it. Not fun the first time you go outside early in the morning to get the paper, ASSUME the door will be unlocked and then find yourself locked out with no keys. Secure from burglers though!! The other annoyance is that when I used the key to unlock the door from outside, it retracts the deadbolt but doesn't pull the little guide ""fingers"" all the way out of the door latch, so I still can't pull the door open. Have NO idea how to fix this problem without using a file and saw on the lockset itself. So, performance is questionable and annoying. It looks great however, and the finish and materials are top notch. Very heavy and secure lockset, not only keeping intruders at bay but also the homeowners! Ha, Ha. Don't think Emtek meant to do that....
