Solid Brass Sash Stay

We are renting a 200 year old house where many of the windows have no sashes. The previous tenant used bricks to hold the windows open! These sash stays are attractive, period authentic, and smooth working. No more bricks!

Used retrofitting old windows with modern weatherstripping… These products hold the lower sash up when its open and help seal the meeting rail when the window is closed. Excellent quality and work better than any similar items I have purchased in the past. I'll be buying these again for future similar work!

I was able to retain the windows in my 1845 Greek Revival which have incredible craftsman lotus blossom detail with the use of the window stays and good quality storm windows--the difference between restoration and renovation.

When sashes are too wide to use the sash barrel pins, these hold the sash well. When the window is closed, the Sash Stay pushes the lower sash in for a tighter fit.

One stay was defective out of ten pcs

I had used the smaller stays on small windows, but I had some almost floor length, heavy windows and tried these. they are great, they hold these big windows any were you want them.

was happy to find these stays as the weight ropes had been cut creating a guillotine type hazard for the windows. these are quality stays with a great, original looking finish

It was not clear to me that this is not a 2 piece lock--the plate is attached to the lock. It's a beautiful lock, however there is no allowance for clearances between the window and the jamb. If you have replacement windows, this lock will probably not work for you. You'll need to have wood adjacent to wood only for the lock to work.
