I found this vintage high boy dresser with very nice profile but the finish was in rough shape and the hardware on it was oversized mismatched circa 1970's and just looked silly. I felt the simplicity of the dresser could benefit from uniform hardware in a classic and simple knob. I also thought about something more petite and understated. I loved that the knobs were unfinished since my plan was to paint the whole piece including the hardware with several layers of Swedish style whitewash. I simply roughed them a bit with fine sandpaper before installation and painted the whole piece.

These little pulls are a really nice match for the American Girl dollhouse we just designed and built, they look a lot like a standard door knob when sized down to 1:4 ratio that these dolls are roughly emulating.
