My wife found an old ice box in a basement over 40 years ago. I cleaned it up at that time and we used it as a liquor cabinet until this summer. I decided that it required a major restoration including replacing the rather grubby original hardware. The sanding, staining and refinishing was easy compared to finding new hardware. After a thorough search of the internet I found these antique finished hinges and matching latches. I ordered one set and was impressed with the quality and finish. (MY background is in electroplating and metal finishing.) I ordered two more sets of hinges and latches and have installed them on the icebox.The icebox in now back in our living room and is the subject of many extremely positive comments. In fact I have at least one offer to refinish a friend's icebox. I'm still thinking about that!
