Ok, this wall plate is solid brass and heavy. Unfortunately I couldn't use it. As it turns out the tabs from the switches protrude about 1/8 of an inch beyond the surface plane of the wall. Since the wall plate is flat on the wall side, it doesn't lie flat against the wall, there is a 1/8"" gap between the wall plate and the wall. The product itself is well made and heavy.
