Description

Our traditional bean-tip strap hinge with smooth surface gives your home an authentic Early-American flavor. Its surface is phosphate treated then lacquered, for rust-resistant, long-lasting wear. Our versatile design with loose pin and reversible pad allows for full or half-surface application. For doors up to 175lbs.

Using 3 hinges, the 15 5/8" and 19 5/8" straps are suitable for 1 3/4" thick by 36" wide doors weighing up to 175 lbs. The pad measures 4" by 2". The pad width is measured from the edge of the pad to the center of the knuckle. The strap length is measured from the tip of the strap to the center of the knuckle.

Hardware Tip

The strap is mounted to the surface of a door and the pad may be surface mounted (full surface) or mortised into the jamb (half surface).

Fantastic reproduction hinge!!!!!

As the owner of a house built in 1750 I have searched every avenue for good colonial restoration hardware and I am absolutely OVER THE MOON about these hinges!!! When they arrived and I got my first look at them it literally took my breath away! The hinges are the best I have ever been able to get my hands on at any price(except for an occasional antique set). They are fantastic and I will definitely be buying more!

Comments:

I used three black strap hinges on a custom,very heavy wood door. The hinges work well and door hangs true.The look is exactly what I intended. The only problem was the removable pins which could be removed easily from the exterior so I created a notch in the wood trim around the door which blocks the removal of the pins.
