We are restoring an old home and have been using your hardware, We have been more then amazed by the service, quality and beauty of your product. We just installed a replica, Solid brass illuminated doorbell. Beautiful! The quality blew us and our client away! I have not found this quality or unique style anywhere else. I will use you again and recommend you to friends and customers.
Nice buzzer
Comments:
Nice buzzer. I had bought another one of a different style from House of Antique Hardware and you had to press it hard to get it to work. Sometimes people would think they pressed it but we would not hear a bell as they didn't press it hard enough. This one looks nice and works much better.
Nice Decorative Door Bell
Comments:
Very nice looking decorative doorbell. Added a nice touch to our front door when replacing our old builder grade plastic one. When deciding on which door bell to choose from house of antiques, I copied my top choice images into a word doc, adjusted them to their actual size, printed them, cut them out, and held them each up to my actual door bell spot. It gave me an exact idea of which one would look best there. No disappointments.
Not Flush
Comments:
The doorbell is attractive, well-made, and heavy. The item description stated that it is surface mount. The doorbell is not. The electrical post extends beyond the back of the casing requiring that a 5/8"" hole be drilled into the mounting surface. In my case the electrician ($90) did not mount the casing fully and cleanly to the surface. I then went back and chiseled out, of the brick, a hole to correctly accommodate the electrical connection. This did cause a problem because it is a replacement doorbell. The electrical wires ran under the cement between bricks and drilling a hole could cause electrical shorts or damaged wires. The mounting screws are another problem because they don't tighten level with the fluted surface. I question if they are made and finished to the standard of the doorbell casing.
Perfect for the application

I was looking for the perfect push button to enhance the main access door. Choosing from a huge selection, I found the perfect one.
Rusty Bells
Comments:
We are restoring our early 1900's Victorian home, and bought 2 of these doorbells for both the front door and the back door. They look Victorian, and we were very pleased with that. However, we have had them installed now for 2 months, and the screws that were sent with them have started to rust very badly. We are very disappointed on how they now look after only this short time.
