We needed a latch for a door that kept blowing open in our 1850s farmhouse. The antique brass finish went nicely with the other finishes in our home. My husband found it easy to install. He had to modify the retainers and striker plate to fit the dimensions of our door, but he found the materials were high quality and easy to work with.

Solid brass door bolts

The door bolts work great. If you can read a tape measure and operate a self centering vix bit you will have no problem installing. The door bolts themselves are heavy duty and come with a nice polished finish. I chose to age the finish using ammonia and salt water following up by polishing them with 0000 steel wool. They turned out beautifully. The home owner was most pleased.
