Description

Jet black porcelain door knobs with black iron shanks are a great choice for rustic or refined interiors. Pair them with plain iron rosettes for a simple and understated period door set. The shanks are powder coated to resist rust.

Dimensions. Knobs: 2 3/8" diameter. Shank: 5/8" diameter, drilled for a 20 TPI spindle. Included spindle: 3 1/2" L x 9/32". Includes an Allen wrench and set screws for mounting knobs to spindle.

Hardware Tip

How do I know what door knobs will work with a particular rosette or door plate? The knob shank diameter should be a little less than the inside collar diameter on the rosette.

Black Porcelin Door Knobs

Comments:

We recently had installed three interior 4 panel doors in our 1895 Queen Anne Victorian. We wanted hardware to compliment or best match the existing doors, and low and behold Antique Hardware had it! Thanks a million.

Does Not Work with Old Latch

Comments:

Along with the Granby Stamped Brass Back Plate in Oil-Rubbed Bronze. (R-01BM-8764-B-OB), this knob does not turn smoothly and makes latch stick. The coller on the plate with this knob will not rotate freely with knob tightened against plate. Very disappointing.

Don't fit most of my doors

Comments:

These door knobs, while beautifully and good quality, do not fit most existing door hardware. You will definitely have to purchase the inner workings of the door to ensure these work. I did not and now I either have to spend the extra money or accept that I lost a few hundred dollars in knobs because of my mistake.

Good quality, odd spindle size

Comments:

Spindle size measured 0.304 in, which is larger than the typical 9/32 (0.28in) used in the US and too big to fit into my old lock. I am guessing it is the UK size of 19/64, but just measured a bit larger. The threads did fit a regular 9/32 spindle I had, so it worked OK. Also, it uses 2 hex set screws on each side instead of a traditional standard set screw - probably a better design.

Good Results

Comments:

The product looks like the original 114 year old door knob that I had to replace. Installed in matter of minutes.

Great doorknobs!

Comments:

We bought this doorknob for our own house, but I mainly shop with House of Antique hardware for sets for film and television. This is a great doorknob, matches the period doorknobs in our 1888 townhouse beautifully, and we are very pleased to have it!

Great quality and will be buying more

Comments:

Love these door knobs for my 1930's home. The previous owner replaced original knobs with cheap glass knobs and cheap ""brass"" rosettes. This design is so much more original looking and gives the doors a classier feel.

Haven't installed yet. I like the look.

Look great in our vintage home.

Comments:

These knobs are extremely well made. I have purchased them twice and both times I was very pleased. The porcelain has a great finish and the knobs have a wonderful weight to them. They look simply fantastic in our vintage home. My wife and I looked had already purchased authentic vintage knobs, but in the end replaced them with these. These were half the cost and the way they mount to the spindle is superior to our antique knobs. Also, one of the other reviewers noted that the spindle was too big to fit his locks. I had the same issue, until I realized that spindle it ships with just has a soft metal collar in the middle (you can actually see it in the online picture). You can pull this off with a pair of pliers easily, and it then fits US locks with zero problems. The screw on spindle itself is fantastic. WAY better than the old kind with only a few positions for the knob. This style allows you to get the perfect fit for any width door. House of Antique Hardware has a clear winner with these.

Perfect for the bathroom doors

Comments:

These knobs were used on 3 doors that had existing hardware. I did have issues with them fitting, however, customer service was very knowledgeable. We were able to work out a solution.
