Absolutely stunning! Yes, I'd buy again...
Comments:
I used my brass and glass door knob for the bathroom in my salon/boutique. It was just the right touch for my victorian style decor. I can't wait until I change all the knobs in my salon. They're so beautiful...
Beautiful Door Set for New Houses Too
Comments:
I've owned two older homes until building a new house some years ago. I have replaced all light switches with pearl push buttons. I love the look of victorian and early 20 century homes. I am now replacing the modern door sets with the Egg & Dart sets. It is amazing how many people notice and comment on them. They completely change the look of the main floor of the house which was built in 1999. I read other comments regarding the knob and shaft assembly. It is a traditional way to install and change knobs for older homes with mortise lock assemblies. These are modern latches with knob and shaft assembly. The ""set"" screw holds the knob to the shaft. They do work loose over time on those doors in high traffic areas. An application of ""blue"" Locktite resolves the issue. I use the blue to allow easier removal of the knob.
best door handle
Comments:
handle gets loose sometimes, only issue I have with it
Can't believe I can have these in my life ; )
Comments:
I haven't installed or used these yet, so I'll update this review after I do. That said, they are gorgeous. I work in a historic building and get to see the real deal version of these all the time. I never thought I'd be able to buy such an apparently high-quality yet affordable reproduction for my own home.
Elegant knobs and backplates
Comments:
I love these door knobs and backplates and have several throughout my house in different finishes. They add a custom touch to otherwise stock doors.
Elegant Vestibule Door Set
Comments:
When guests enter they usually ask me where I bought the sets, as they are on all of the doors of the vestibule (coat closet, French doors, etc.).
Touch of Magic!
Comments:
These doorknobs added a touch of magic to our family home. It is like a piece of jewellery for your doors. The crystal knobs sparkle and change with the ever changing lighting. Who would have thought door knobs could be a thing of beauty and interest.
Would love to love them
Comments:
These are beautiful door sets. The finish is great and the crystal knobs are top notch. The issue really is their operation. There are two main issues: First, there is no alignment features to have the two plates aligned. Then the tolerances are too close with the plastic ring where the knob meets the plate. If just a tad bit off and the knob will stick. You can spent an hour trying to get it lined up properly. If your door is not perfect, any change in angle can cause the door set not to operate smoothly. I finally decided not to use the plastic rings, but they can still stick. Second, the knobs constantly come loose. After a year with them, I have to tighten the knobs every couple of months. They have two set screws each knob, but they are not sufficient. I will try thread lock one day. They need to have the exterior quality of the knobs and plates, but have the reliability of design of a Quikset.
