Far superior to our original handle
Comments:
Our original handle set was one more of a latch-like system that didn't use a bolt and strike plate. It was horrible. We got this one to ensure the door would close and stay latched. So far, it's great.
Great screen door latch

This product was used on an old fashion wood screen door . Looks great
Poorly-made junk.
Comments:
This piece is pure garbage. I had it professionally installed, and it will not stay firmly mounted to the door, the screws keep coming loose, most likely because the mechanism inside is not smooth and seems to require an inordinate amount of twisting and fiddling to get the latch to retract enough for the door to open. I was saddened to see it was made by Deltana when it arrived. They have gotten poor reviews elsewhere, but House of Antique Hardware (an awesome company in my opinion) didn't list the manufacturer on the product sales page. I will continue fiddling with it in hopes I can get it to function smoothly, but so far, I feel aggravated every time I interact with my expensive new screen door.
Great for screen doors

I installed this to replace existing one. The brass held up well in salt water environment. This house is right on the gulf here in FL. The steel corroded in side from constant salt air, but brass just tarnished. This time in installed with anti-corrosion grease.

I needed to replace an existing door latch for my wooden storm door. I looked around at the box stores and found nothing. I searched the internet and came across the House of Antique Hardware site. I was pleasantly surprised to find an ""exact"" match to replace this door latch. It is a distinctive brass set, excellent quality and was simple to install. I couldn't be more pleased. The package arrived promptly and within 20 minutes, I had the new latch installed. I am a big fan on this company. After looking high and low for a replacement lock set for a ""storm door"" voila !!! found the exact set at House of Antique Hardware
Well made, fair price.

Bought this to replace identical knob bought in 1990. I'm of the opinion that something like door hardware should last pretty much forever, but you can't complain about 28 years for $30.00 (probably $20 or so back then). For the record, the first one failed because the mechanism wore down to the point that the bolt didn't withdraw fully.
Saved me a lot of money.

Had the latch break on the screen/storm door - 20+ years old. Went to two large building supply stores. 1 national Home Despot and 1 regional Menards. Was told at both stores by a supposed""expert"" that replacement latches were not available and then proceeded to try and sell me a new door - pricing range from $198 to $ 495.00. My son does high end remodeling and directed me to you guys. Got what I needed in a few days for about $30.00. He installed it in about 20 minutes.

Exactly what I had been looking for at local hardware stores. Competitive price and received the product when expected.
