Classic Rosette Screen Door Latch Set With 1 3/4" Backset

It's exactly the piece I needed. I worry that it might have the same problems as the one I'm replacing, that in a year or so it will start to catch. We'll see.

Nice bit of door hardware. Drop in replacement for the existing latch that was worn past use. I considered replacing just the worn components from the new set but instead replaced the entire latch. Easy, fast, looks great and now the mail carrier is happy as the storm door opens easily to access the mail slot! Only downside was the delivery was a few days longer than expected. Now that I know I will come back to the site to purchase additional hardware for my 130 year old house.

This hardware is similar to a set purchased from Rings End that didn't operate properly and the set screws rusted. This set fit the already prepped door but also after installing the mechanism seems just as flimsy. Additionally the handle does not align parallel to the floor and looks off but operates. The lack of exact precision when installed is a big negative and requires playing around with to get it to operate properly. We have a metal screen door that has a similar hardware but with much sturdier construction and precision. Now I will wait to see if any exposed parts to the outdoor weather rusts like the set replaced from Rings End.

Everything was perfect except it didn't fit into my present screen door and I mailed it back to you.

I bought the black matte finish. It is not a strong finish at all. I was expecting something along the lines of a powder coated finish, but the paint scratches off in a few weeks to reveal a brass knob. So disappointed!

The two products were exactly as expected. One was an identical replacement, second was new. Good quality, all parts were included.
